Watching a DStv program on your phone is not just with any kind of mobile phone; there are DStv Mobile Compatible Phones which are supported by the recent mobile broadcast technologies, that allows for the live transmission of television channels to your phone. Unless you have a phone that has such a supported service, you cannot watch any DStv channel or any other television transmission on your phone.
The device responsible for this is called DVB-H (Digital Video Broadcast – Handheld) DVB-H has a greater technological feature that makes it unique and is only made available as at the time of this post in few countries of which Nigeria, Namibia, Ghana, and Kenya are the few African countries enjoying the service.

I'm subscribed to DISH's Pan-African: bouquet and I use their sling adapter to watch those four channels on my tablet. I don’t have to pay any additional charges to do this; I just needed high speed internet with the sling adapter and my 722 DVR. I have access to all the same channels as I get at home, and the picture quality looks amazing. A DISH co-worker told me that DISH is the only TV provider to give customers access to both live TV and DVR recordings on Smartphone’s, Tablets, Laptops, iPads, iPhones and Blackberry’s.
